Sorry to put a cat among the pigeons but I had complete opposite intentions there...

The guy asked for advice!
My comment is based upon maximising potential for better sound quality - not just an opinion.

Not all 6x9 are bad ..just depends on which one's and where/how they are mounted. I have heard focal and cdt (cliff designs) component 6x9's with sep x overs in the front of a ka running of a genni duel mono and both soounded very good.

The sound 6x9's produce isn't as good as the sound produced by a normal round speaker.

It has been put to me in the best phrase I could imagine;
"a good install can make even the sh1t audio equipment sound good"

6x9s are commonly mounted in the rear of cars, in the parcel shelf or hidden in C-Pillars.
Some do have the ability to produce a little more bass than components and coaxils, so some people would choose them rather than opting for a sub in the boot.

It is unbelievable how many people have ignored their mates advice against 6x9s just for the.. wait for it...

"nah I'm not changing them - it looks leathal in the back window" :nono:

I have some fitted to a stealth shelf as I wanted some more bass than the standard rears would provide.

Without wanting to go down the seperate amp route they've done the job perfectly, I only wanted them to add some bass to the system, which they have done.
