Picked this up as a replacement for the Laguna. It is a 1.6TDI CR Octavia Elegance with Xenons and Maxidot trip computer. It has 105 of the best dub power under the bonnet which makes it brisk in progress.;)

The oil temp is a nice feature IMO.

Specced maxidot as it gives the option of flattening the beam for continental driving. No need to go back to dealer everytime.

We service a few Skodas at work, chap has one with 130k on, his is a Superb and what a car, bloody solid build and sooo many toys.
 
Does look smart just not sure the 1.6 is as strong as the 1.9 what sort of mpg you getting I've read about dpf problems with that lump as well

The only problems with DPF is owners not reading their manuals.

The amount of people who come in with DPF lights on is rediculous, we say have you read your handbook? Answer is always no, in the book it says to give the car a good run every once and a while to clear the DPF unit, we had a bloke who ignored this, and ended up buying a new DPF unit and cat (They are part of the same thing) = bye bye £1500

We also have a option on the in house computers to heat up the DPF to empty them, but a quick fast drive does the same.

It is exceeding expectations so far. Will have to see if any rattles develops over time though.

The trip is indicating 46MPG right now. It only has 120miles on the clock and country driving so can't get an accurate reading of MPG yet. It'll get a few trips to london in a weeks time so will see then.

It'll get a nice run on the motorway everyweek so it should be fine. I would have opted for a 1.8TSI but it is only rated at 1300kg braked towing weight which is just under what I need.

One question for you russ. I'm noticing some judder/vibration from the clutch when pulling off. I'm going to wait until I have at least 2k on before I would start worrying about it but is this normal for this engine?

Iv found the VAG lumps do give a small vibration through the pedal mate, if you rest your foot onthe pedal you might feel it at a standstill too.

I think its mothing to worry about, but if your not happy or it gets worse pop it into your dealer, wont cost you anything :)

MPG is still improvingand over 50MPG for now. The engine is also very flexible with power all the way through the rev range, it really is like a petrol engine.

I'm still finding new features to play with. Need to spend some time with the manual.
