New Central Locking/Ignition Key

Got a mate who is after a new ignition key for a MK2 PH3. He wants key that works his central locking as his old one is knackered (tried new battery to no avail) Anyone know where he can get one other than Reno (they have quoted near £200. Obviously it will need to be programmed for immob/central locking. Or is there a way that the old one can be reset after a new battery is fitted?? Any help greatly appreciated.

right key and blade has to be ordered to specific key numbers - so would be nearly £200 - where abouts you too???

I only had one key with my car, and wanted a second for obvious reasons. I looked about an reno told me £90, too much I thought, so I tried all around and ebay had an auction with some guy in Nottingham who had the blade, plip and could also program it, in total it cost me £30 Let me know if you want the details and ill try my best at finding them. (was for a new clio, not older phase)

Some key cutters and motor factors offer keys/remotes too...

Not sure what the charge is, but worth checkin (probably cheaper than the french thieves operating in this country)...

Go to a scrappy or infinicar, and get the receiver unit outa the roof, and the matching key, take the keys aaprt and swap the circuit board over.

Tried contactsng that bloke, he says he cant get mk1 keys anylonger, god knows why reno still do them
