New DCi Owner

  Clio Dynamique 1.5 DCi
Hi there,

I'm just new to the forums as i have just bought a Clio 1.5DCi and was just wondering if any of you lot would be able to help me out with a few questions.

1) What would be my best option to get: Uprated Panel Filter or Induction Filter?
2) How good are the new ECU upgrades available for the Clio and which companies are best to go to for one?
And finally
3) What exhaust systems are worth getting for the Clio?

Cheers for all you help in advance :D

Hi welcome to CS!! :D

Which DCi is it? the 65, 80 or 100?

Pmurray on here is your guy to speak to regarding remaps which give very good gains from what i've heard.

Hiya,

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Its only the 65BHP DCi but its just hopefully going to be a stop gap car till i get a full time job, just something to get me to and from in at the moment.

Thanks for the advice about the panel filter, think i'll see what i can get with that. :D How much do you recon i'll be looking at for a powerflow system for a Clio then, with maybe a 3.5" exit?

Kev I wouldn't get an exhaust if your after performance, if you want looks then you could.

Best bets get a panel filter/remap

orget induction kits and exhaust if your after power there tunning box for sale at the monet in the for sale section £150 I think Tiggers selling it. Thats your best way to power from a diesel cheaply. Otherwise a remap is going to giev more power and niccer delivery it just cannot be sold on.

Pmurry on here and Chipwaizards are the only Uk companies realy.

If you want power get a intercooler fitted and then remap that 105hp or so you looking at vs 85hp from a remapped/chipped dci or there abouts

Nothing wrong with a dci 65 why are you so bothered?

Cheers for all the advice guys, i'll get looking into a new panel filter straight away and get in touch with pmurray to see about this remap then :D

Edde im not bothered about it only being a 65BHP just fancied doing a few bits 2 give it a bit more power as i normally do mainly styling 2 my cars but just fancied a change and to try a few engine mods with the clio and was trying to cover all angles :D as i've never done much apart from filters etc before.

Sorry about this guys, but has anyone got any recommendations for a new panel filter?!

Cheers again :D

Yep forget it.

Best idea use a universal induction kit if you realy want.

But i thought like your self and others had said the panel filters where the best way to go edde?! :S

For cheapness on most care per Hp gain there the best yep.

Were talking about diesels which are a different kettle of fish diesel arn't like petrol no need to start looking at induction kits etc unless your running dark smoke.

The remap on a stock DCI 65 makes a very big difference. I test many changes on my partners car and it goes really well. If you don't mind a bit of smoke you can get quite big gains. Even on a map with no smoke the difference is amazing! And the MPG gets better!

Thats brilliant, thanks for all the help with this guys :D

Pmurray, how much would i be looking at for getting a remap done by yourself? I don't mind the bit of smoke either, i could live with that :rasp: lol!

You don't want smoke it means the EGT are to high realy and the turbo getting damaged.

Pmurray what sort of gains would i be looking at getting then from having the car remapped?! :)

PM'd you mate. Basically we will get the most possible for your driving style with no danger of causing damage to the turbo/engine/clutch

On the 65 this is usually in the reigion of 20hp but as you can imagine that's alot extra!
