fred quoted me £172 or £174 for brembo max discs, feroddo ds2500 pads, braided hoses and fluid.

I think i might order them on monday!

DS2500 pasds then but thats overlkill I use stock on track days and I'm violent without problems until I did Beford they were fine. Then again I'd done about 8 track days back to back on the pads so they were bound to bve bad and Bedford kills all brakes.

Drill disks are useless IMO they crack and are just for looks.

fair enough, cheers for the advice mate :)

i just know that my standard discs fade real bad lol, like they hardly worked when i used them recently on a blitz, went to brake and scared the s**t out of me as they didnt respond hardly at all, luckily it was on a straight road to a junction that i was braking e.g not a corner cos i would've entered way too fast! :S

Thats not your disks depend what happeneing if your pedal went solid then its your pads if your pedal went to the floor the fluids gone.

Change the fluid anyway will make a huge difference.

Disk wont make any difference I've had mine bright red glowing on race pads before now there fine its the pads and more often the fluid which gives up.

ma fluid is fucked as is one of ma rear cylinders.. (part number anyone?) so i may as well do the lot at the same time as my discs are fecked too.. ma car was in at reno and they said do you know your discs are warped, i said yes they were like if we do the work it'll be £250... she goes, do you want me to go ahead with the work.. i was like do i f**k, buddy fred does a fu kit fur 170 bucks and i'll fit and bleed them within 2 hrs.

is there any way for me to tell whether i have bosch or girling brakes at the rear?

  Lionel Richie
lol, i dunno

i just know there's 2 drum sizes, 2001 onwards cars have the larger lucas setup

bosch is the smaller of the 2

and gsf asked this question when i asked for a quote.

p.s. sorry for hijacking the thread..

see at the bottom of the page it has "more products on next page" click that...

u got any crack left?

  Tweaked Leon Cupra R
i dunno, it's rears i'm after tho... i'm guessing that means you've tanned all the crack!! lol

  Lionel Richie
well i'm going on guess work now, if it says lucas on your front caliper the sensible thing to assume would be that you have lucas rears also (mine did)

  Tweaked Leon Cupra R
ok, i think it ir lucas tbh.. cheers for the help anyway.. will give u a buzz 2moro hopefully to order that kit!

fluid has been changed by a friend when we did a service a few weeks ago. the pedal dint go to the floor it did what it always does just the braking power wasnt there! trust me mate i know what it feels like when the brakes fade! ;)

also the inside of my discs are scored to f**k as me and my mate saw the other day! ;)

deffo new disc time, pads are ok at the moment but discs look original :S
