New head unit

Hi my gf is getting me a new head unit and i want to know if i will be able to use the steering wheel controls with it. Not sure which unit it is but do i need to buy an adapter or something? Oh and how do i get the old one out?

Yea u can get ones that have adaptors that make the stalk controls still work ,i knows Alpine do em cause i have one ,mines was a dash off job to do but then my dash had to come off to replace the components anyway so no biggie but i think some people have done it without taking dash off .

i'm sure someone else will come along to explain more .

I gots a sony with a connects2 adaptor, no need for dash removal but you're stuck with a sony HU.
