New Headunit stopping Bluetooth Phone?

Hi guys,
i am thinking of upgrading the speakers and headunit in my mk3 clio with the built in bluetooth phone,
if i do this will it stop the Bluetooth feature working and stop the steering column controls working also?

You will need a Connect2 cable for the steering wheel controls to work again although the screen where you can see the radio station will never work with an aftermarket headunit (barring the time and temperature).

Bluetooth should still work afaik but someone may be able to correct me as I'm not 100%.

i have the tom tom version so the screen is a large one on the dash, im guessing that would work fine but the black bar at the bottom which shows radio info would just stay black?

I changed a stereo last year in a Renault van for customer, built in sat nav was reliant on stereo so if you go aftermarket I'd have my doubts the tomtom would still work. Likewise factory Bluetooth will be through stereo so removal of stereo would prevent this form functioning too

Ah okay thats not great, thanks though. So if im wanting to upgrade speakers/add a sub id need to change teh head unit thus lossing those features?

Not necessarily u can fit amp to factory radio by getting a RCA connector that splices onto speakers wires, been covered a few times before, some adapters are better than others- have a wee search, unless ur an audiophile theses have have some good reviews

If Bluetooth is 'built in' to the factory stereo, how is will this work exactly if you remove the stereo. Never heard of an aftermarket stereo picking up factory fitted Bluetooth.

That said an aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth will evidently give you Bluetooth, but will have its own mic
