New Headunit

  Clio II Phase 2
Hello!

I got a Clio 04 with a tunerlist radio. I would like a stereo with bluetooth support and found the Pioneer MVH-X360BT (one of the cheapest stereos in Sweden).

Since I use the standard speakers, will I notice any difference if I go with a more expensive model such as an Alpine or will the one listed above work just fine?

Sound clarity should improve with the standard speakers.
I believe the standard head unit is 22W x4 and the x360bt giving out 50W.

In my opinion you get what you pay for.
I'm not saying Pioneer is cr*p, but an alpine head unit will cost more for a reason.

Okay, so even with the standard speakers there is a noticable difference between a Pioneer and Alpine? Guess I´m not too picky since I´m still using the standard speakers after all :)

Thanks for the quick reply!

Standard speakers are pretty good. Would definitely replace the headunit as it cant be any worse than the standard one but you will gain all the inputs for USB bluetooth and aux which are worth it. BUT you will then need a stalk adapter if you want to use the steering wheel stalk for volume etc. If it was me I would probably buy a better headunit but thats just me. for 650kr its good value, alpine ones will be 2000+kr.

Tbh I found my Sony MEXBT3600u (iirc!) to have better sound quality than the alpine that was in HOU.

Either way, you'll notice a big difference in quality from the standard unit.

Yea I´ve read about the stalk adapter, if I have not mistaken I will also be left without the clock if I don´t get one?

So is there any particular stereo that you can recommend for under 2000kr? I rather pay for a stereo in the 1000kr range if there is some radical difference.

After checking out the majority of the headunits I think it stands between these two:

Pioneer MVH-X560BT and Alpine UTE-72BT

clock and temp both work without the stalk adapter. Definately go with the pioneer, its got better features. Having audio streamed through bluetooth from your phone is wonderful. The Alpine cant do that. I dont know about audio quality but doubt there is any difference. Research the stalk adapter and make sure you get the right one, I messed up and bought the wrong one. It will be either the connects2 CTSRN003 or the CTSRN005 - I think the 005 one is for cars with the "update list" stereo (182 non cup) . you will also need the pioneer lead that you choose when buying the adapter - should be a choice on the drop down. Also when ordering the headunit make sure you buy the renault stereo tool to remove the old head unit. should be very cheap though.

Yea I looked into it and The CTSRN003 is the one for my car, found one on ebay that is sold with that pioneer cable.

What is the aerial adapter for?

There are a lot of clios in my town, there are actually two others on my street! However the vast majority are just standard models.

Thanks for the heads up. Then I´ll go with the MVH-X560BT.

At first my intention was just to get aux support. I guess a sub would be nice too... Would a sub work okay with the standard speakers? If I get one it would have to be a small one that can be kept under the seat. The SWE-1200 seems to be the best one but then again it costs quite a bit.
