new keys needed

could someone look up on the data sheet how much a new key for a mk2 ph2 clio would be?

lost the spare some time ago and the "in use" one is starting to get tired.

also how much will it be to "tune" them in to my car?

jamie

can any plip be coded to a car? and can you copy the current blade and put it into any plip, then code it? I have some fobs somewhere

I think you can re code old keys. But im not sure if im 100% correct. Would work out much cheaper?

Decent autoelectrician maybe? On my old car the spare key wasn't cancelling the immobiliser. Got a bloke out and he copied the immobiliser chip from my working key into his machine and then wrote another to put into my spare. Sorted.

Jamie, it's expensive believe me. Brun is correct in what he says, the only way if you haven't got a spare at all is via Renault.

Second hand keys cannot be reprogrammed.

  Skoda Fabia vRS
as above, keys used on other vehicles cannot be coded to work on your car, try it and pay for coding twice by all means

lol and i do work at Renault, in parts, so i do know what im talking about

specialsit breakers might be cheaper than the dealers, worth ago, have a word with matt

BRUN? would taking the decoder ring and key off a smashed up car and putting it on your own car work? or does the lot need to be coded in?

  Skoda Fabia vRS
being in parts i dont actually do the coding so im not 100%, however from what i understand it all runs through the UCH so id imagine that would need to come from the other car aswell, and i know that stores the VIN number so still prob wouldnt work, hardly worth it, just buy a proper one

Secondhand keys will not work.
New keys are around £140 coded INC, coding is a half hour charge (£35 depending on dealer), the rest is the plip.
The first step will be to go into your local dealer with your V5 and driving license, they can then order up a key, they take between 5 and 10 working days to come in from France.

right would a key or whatever bit that had "lost its code" (is that even possible?) when put in the ignition do naff all??

My V6 is turning over, but no fuel pressure, the car has been stood for AGES, i'm thinking the key needs reprogramming (still unlocks the car on the push button) or am i barking up the wrong tree?

Yep that works no need for coding

Its possible but do you not have the other key?

edde what about the UCH ? the decoder ring does not need coding on most cars from what ive picked up, so wouldnt have any effect at all on making a key work or not
