New laptop

Im thinking about ditching my desktop to free up space etc and get a laptop to replace it.

Not really sure what im looking at when it comes to computers if im honest.
Im looking at getting the best spec that i can. Thinking of spend £400-£500?

Tbh, id rather buy new. Want to get it with the new windows 7 also.

Not for £4-500. You won't get one that even comes close to a desktop's spec 'brand new'.

I just bought an Acer Aspire 5536 AMD Turion 64 dual core, ati radeon graphcs, 250GB HD, 4GB ram for £305 with vista premium and it qualifies for windows 7 free upgrade.

I'm very happy with it, would never personally spend more than £500

About a grand atleast would get you a gaming laptop. Not much point though.

I got a laptop, xbox and decent 32" tv for that which does everything I want.

Thanks for the input so far. Dont want it for gaming as dad will be forking out mega bucks soon on a gaming machine. I only want it for browsing, music, and photos + photoshop etc.
