hi my name is martin and my partner whos car it is is debbie and we live in essex . just bought a replacement clio for my partner debbie a 51 plate 1.2 16v 3dr expression + called silvie because its silver to replace her old 1.2 r reg clio called clarence that was suffering from a bit of tin worm on drop sills and outer sills mechanicilly was sound but wouldnt pass mot without major cosmetic surgery so has today gone to the retirement home ie scrap yard . the new one was bought with an intermiitant cutting out problem i looked on a few sites and it mentioned the security block over the ecu loom chaffing witch i removed as it showed signs of chaffing and retaped the loom and had no problems for two weeks till today when the car cut out and woulnt start . we got it going and manageged to get it home i chcked connections and all seemed fine if i leave it running all is well i rev a few times all good i rev again and it cut out and wont start for a bit and then it will . the ecu loom has been repaired , the crank position sensor above gear box replaced i am thinking maybe the throttle pedal assembly . are these prone to failure ?
