Just got my clio 182 titanium on the 2nd September, what a motor. Also have 2 x 1.2 dynamique clios which I think are great too. However, never had a problem with either Dynamique but the 182 - boy it likes to rattle (windcreen blower vent). However, very pleased with the bad boy cos I havent had the pleasure of driving a quick car since my 19 16valver in 96/97 (cant remember exactly). After 1 week of driving I thought to myself- this car isnt really that quick, BUT jumped back in the dynamique so girlfriend could take the sport to work and immediately thought - this car used to be quick - not anymore.

One question for all you pros - Done 1800 miles now and the growl doesnt seem that loud from the engine - it seems to make a bit of a growl around 2500 rpm in each gear then subsides. Should the clio give of a nice loud growl or not - cos my 19 16valver used to sound like a formula 1 car (unmodded) when I accelerated hard. Also will it get beefier sounding when the miles start to clock up? thnx in advance (yes I am a noob - dont know jack about cars) P.S I also have a V70 170bhp and it likes to growl. lol - that sounds dodgy

Just listened to the engine in the clip and that is what mine sounds like- not as beefy as my old 19 16v, maybe its something to do with the sound proofing which my 19 definately lacked. I was hoping it would sound more aggressive - not for people outside the car just for myself to listen to. I dont want to appear like some lame Fiat Bravo done up to make it sound like its fast (which in reality just sounds and looks stupid).

An induction kit will sort out the sound when youre hoofing it. just get a closed one and not an open one.

what does an induction kit do, how much does it cost? and will it sound ridiculous when going a t normal speeds? Also does it affect the insurance cos it already costs a packet ?
