I've been saving my ass off for the forthcoming D300 and Nikon don't appear to have dissapointed, announced today and the spec is incredible, and the D3 is even more impressive...

I will stick with my finepix s9600 for another year until the DSLR market becomes a lot more affordable and prob pic up a second hand Nikon or Canon

Nice.... but £500 more than a D200? :dapprove:


The D200 launched at £1299.99, and the D300 doesn't replace the D200 (sits alongside it) so it makes sense that there is a difference in price, the upgrade is so substantial that they can happily co-exist.

I've not really seen anyone complain about the price to be honest, it's packing most of the technology that the D2Xs has (and it betters it in many ways), and that still costs £2500.
