hi everyone just a quick query im thinking of getting a new pc but im wondering if my bt broadband will work with the new vista software? also a few people are saying that not many things work with vista so is it worth all the hassle?

some bluetooth programs may not work, also some iso software dosent work, and games with cracks dont wrk, vista has found out that the cracks are recognised as virus' and will prevent them from working reguardless of software compatibility i.e windows xp,me etc (takn from exp)

You'll have no problems running Vista with your BT internet.

Alot of people have heard rumours that Vista is bad, but to be fair its about as good as XP when it was released.

Yeah Vista seems to get a bit of bad press, but my laptop and pc have ran fine on it and it looks a lot nicer lol. I've had less problems with Vista than XP.

Vista has been around a year now iirc. Tbh I havnt come across any programms for ages that dont work with Vista.

I have had no problems with Vista at all.

Cracked programs also work, just in the interest of research clearly....

Even programs that have been around pre-Vista don't have problems running - I use Jasc PaintShopPro 9 for quick image editing as it loads quicker than the later Corel versions and Photoshop, and it just turns off all the pretty stuff and turns it back on when you close it - that's the biggest issue I've had.

Even Visual Studio 2005 works as long as you set it to always run as Administrator, which is documented on the Microsoft site and it works fine as a workaround. And even then, if you don't then only limited functionality is lost.

Go for it I reckon - running it on 2 of my laptops, 3 desktops and I've got Longhorn on 2 servers... I think they're starting to get the hang of this!

lol @ this thread. it'll work fine. further to that, you can get backed up games working with vista aswell..

My experiance with vista says that is all absolute cack. How does Vista know something is a virus when vista does not come with a virus scanner. Sounds to me like you have not setup the rest of your software correctly.
