new phone screen

anyone know where i can get a new screen fitted for my samsung D900, its cracked from one side to the other..i've only had it for a few weeks too...i took it round some places in central london on saturday but they all quoted £85+ and that was after lots of haggling, £85 sounds way too much to me, they see its a brand new phone and they think i'll pay loads...they are mistaken!!

so any good places around the midlands or london i can get one done cheap??

can i do it myself??
 
Its a problem with the phone. Have a search on google about it and look at http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?i=138117&thread=180&page=1

My girlfriend has the same phone and the screen cracked. Sent it off to Kuehne+Nagel Logistics (sp) on the advice of Samsung. They have had it since mid November but still not got it back. We're having to pay £70 to get it repaired, but they are having trouble getting parts apparently. Its a Samsung approved repair centre yet they can't get parts!! I keep kicking up a fuss but still no luck.

Let me know how you get on.

yeah Matt, i'll let you know, its very annoying

i thought it broke a bit easily, one minute it was fine, took it out of my pocket 10 mins later and there was a great big crack in it....thought it was just me being clumsy...also gonna give o2 an earful for selling me a phone with known problems
 
Surely if its a fault witht he phone then samsung should pay for it if its only a few weeks old?
Or is it something about broken screens that means they dont?
 
Samsung won't accept liability for the screens breaking, even though it seems to be a common fault. However that doesn't come as a great surprise. It would cost them so much money if they had to pay for every D900 to have the screen replaced.
 
already done, when you did your D500 did you need any tools? i dont wanna spend £50 on something i cant do anything with, plus i dont want to do a bodged job
