New Sony TV - But how to use USB photo viewer?

  White clique
Hi,

I picked up my nice new Sony Bravia E-series today (32E4030) and the idea is that it looks like a picture frame, and has a setting so you can display an image and make it look like a painting (apparantly). I have no idea if its a crap TV or not, I just thought it would look nice in my lounge!

They sold limited edition USB keys with some more pre-loaded art, but these are long gone, and I want to load on some other pictures in addition to the default ones so I can set it to picture mode when the TV isnt on.

**PS - I'm not technical** ....

.... to get images on, am I going to have to take a photo of the pics I want to display, i.e photo a physical painting and make it look crap, or can I somehow load an image from the the web onto my Laptop and somehow transfer it over? Would there be any way of using the USB port to do this, for example storing an image on a USB stick?

I needed a new one as my current one is non-digital, and this one has a built in freeview receiver too! Its going up on the wall Sunday and the plug points are half way up the wall, so it will be a complete flush finish with no cables (my current wire-free set up is below)...

So How could I get a direct picture image on, JPEG or something, just stick it on a USB pen, would my TV recognise it?

Yeah just having a rummage through, its says the USB viewer supports DCF-complaient JPEG photos only... and further here actually it says "you can view photographs in JPEG format stored in a Sony digital camera, camcorder through a USB cable or USB storage media on your TV"

Its got a USB port, i'll plug in a memory stick with the image and see what happens, I hoped i'd be able to do it this way and load up lots of images on a USB pen from JPEG files (rip off a load of Banksys and use them etc). They sold limited edition USB sticks, so there must be a way I am sure.

Fingers crossed!!

i can just fire a usb stick into my tv and get it to display a photo by pressing the wise link button (samsung tv)

so it is probably the same on yours
