182's don't have a spare... get some of the crap foam stuff :)

Love the install... did you do it yourself?

Liking that!!

Any heat issues?

its been running the a cover over the amp for some time but with the sub on show, and was fine, but the amp is pretty powerful and only running at a fraction of what it can so doesnt get hot anyway, but idimagine a less powerfull amp may

How does the sub sound under the carpet ? Do you leave it covered over all the time ?

ok tbh, impressed, and yeah all the time, i can use my boot again wee

and if you get a puncture?

ill be in the same position as a cup owner lol

Very nice!

What sort of power is the Alpine giving the GT-4?

not sure atm tbh, im going to say about 400rms?

Like it....

You want to do mine???;)

You taking it to T16???

nah its the other end of the country, will cost a fortune in fuel

very nice, i had 2xGt4's in my boot of my old mk1, sounded very nice

aye , GT4 tbh is the cheapest sub ive had in a long time, had RE subs previously but it seems to be ok, kinda growing out of the BOOM BOOM thing want just a bit of underlying bass to finish the music off.

liking that, defo fooled me too!

assume youve done away with spare wheel being a 172?

any pictures of the box for the sub?

  Clio 182.
That looks awesome. I had a similar install in my old focus. Made a fibreglass box for the wheel well, for the sub, which had the coil adjusted for the volume of the box and a false floor for the amps. Was awesome and i only lost about 2 inch from the boot floor. Id do it again if the 182 had a spare wheel well lol.

I cant seem to find any pictures of it in progress (i did have some somewhere). I loved that install :(

Create a guide for us n00bs to ICE :) I wanna do this but don't know where to start, especially with the volume of the box etc. Also, did you have to saw off the metal rod that pokes up to fit the spare onto?

Any help would be appreciated.

no, the spike is thill there, i drilled a hole in the bottom of the box the exact size of the hole, pushed the box down over it, then sealed it around it, this also helps to keep the box perfectly in place,

TJB, when you say ajusted the coils... im confused,

When i was buying the sub from shadowworks, Troy (the owner) asked me what kind of music i listened to, and how i wanted it to sound. I said i listen to metal with lots of blast beats, so i want it to be punchy, not boomy.

He then said he could adjust the sub (dont ask me how, but summat about adjusting coils rings a bell) to suit the music and the box.

Im not much of an ICE whizz, so dont really know what he did, but it sounded awesome.

2 12s wont happen unless the boxs are horribly undersized

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
box is 18mm, floors are 5mm iirc

but there is 3 suppors just over a ft apart, so very little flex

one 12" it is then, how do i know how big to make the box?

how much does this weigh with it all in, because my dual enclosure at the moment weighs a ton!

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
should be able to find the recomended enclosure size for your sub with its instructions, or on the web.

weight no idea, not that much in all honesty, ive had very heavy installs before
