new steering wheel,,

  golf
i want to get a new smaller steering wheel for my clio, the only issue is i would have to use one without an airbag, good or bad idea?

cheers

A few on here run aftermarket steering wheels in their 172/182's etc, they don't have airbags. I'd go for it.

if id crash surly i would be safer with an airbag?

Yep it is with the rest of the car stock

Since Renault airbag systems are a bit unique no other airbags system work with them so stick with stock or loose the airbags.

depends what for, the Mk2 Clio needs a smaller wheel imo, it will also benefit the driving, i love my 320mm one, superb driving position.

However for a day to day car, maybe keep the air bag for safety.

I fitted one in mine ages ago, airbags can fail or not help at all, and they dont fit them in all cars now, TVR for example. So id not worry of you want one, do it.
