New to Clio's

  Clio 182
Hi, I'm Ben and I'm not having much luck! Lol
I bought myself a 182 as a daily and at first all was great. Later on that day it developed a bad misfire so I changed the injectors and all was good.
A few days later there was a slight misfire that came back but nowhere near as bad as before as it was still driveable but Saturday night the spark plug flew out and the piston crown is knackered! I'm not having much luck.
I've sourced a new lump to go in so let's see how I get on or does anyone on here local to Dartford do engine swaps at a reasonable price?

Thanks and sorry for the essay in a newbies section.

It's been done many a time on here. A like for like replacement should be a piece of cake! I'm sure you need the new engine's ECU/keys etc. but honestly I have no idea what exactly is involved, hopefully someone will be along to advise :)

I'm pretty sure the keys will only communicate with the ECU via a transponder unit to determine whether the engine will start or not. As long as the keys/ECU/Transponder are still the same all shall be good. Well, touch wood!

Welcome to the forum mate.

May be worth ringing Sevenoaks in Kent although they have a hit and miss reputation on here, I just know they're your nearest 'specialist'.

I gave the car to a company called Two Techs to assess the damage. They're Renault specialists also and seem a very helpful pair of fellas. I didn't think I was going to have the time to fit it myself but think I might now. But if there is someone on here that is well priced and good at what they do I don't mind paying. Getting a bit lazy to be doing engine changes on cars now. Lol
