Just put 4 new toyo T1-R's on the 182, got them at a very good price so thought would give them ago and guess what.....There Cr@p... not as much grip and loads more body roll than the pilots that were on the wear marks after 16K of hard driving. Oh well u gets what ya payz 4 lession learned.

Well i've just put the same tyres on and i'm getting awesome grip, esp in the dry, pushing as hard and slightly harder then iw as before round well known bends and no loss in grip atall, whewre the old tyres would have given up, haven't pushed them in the wet yet, but i'm hopeful, never had that feeling or no grip.

How many miles ahve you done, all tyres have a film on them from where they are in the mould, you have to do a few hundred milesfor this to wear off, remember when i had the F1's on the back i was getting the backend out around islands for weeks

Could be the problem... only done 100ish miles, but goin rd a very large roundabout near me it almost felt as like they were almost flexing on the side walls, a kinda rolling feeling weird

Me personally, not bothered about dry handling, bald tyres will grip in the dry.
When it gets wet that sorts the GOOD from the SHITE.

Toyos fitted on front of my 172 cant wait to get shut of them, scuffed edges car crowns over centre of the road, Pilots again for me Toyos too directional 4 me

tyre pressure is very important people, try different pressures, 33-31 / 30-28 and so on till you find the 1 that suits your car and tyre set up!!!

trust me, i had them on the car for 6k miles and tried everything to get them so respond, nothing, just slid everywhere in the wet, with reserved driving too, and weren't exactly great in the dry either

granted they were t1-s, but still don't give me a great image of toyo

i'll stick with re720's

i find t1r's pretty good in the wet, just dont drive in wet conditions like its dry!!! what size wheels are you running?

I ran T1s's for 12k.

Fronts down to 2mm @ 12k.

Rears were as new.

They lasted a few airfield days, and 12 hot laps around the ring.

AWSOME dry grip, but a lot of tramlining as tread started to get low.

Wet grip not so good, esp when down to 3mm.

i don't like them on any pressure on my dci or Williasm they wear rate seems quite good but they have low limits and seem to snap away badly.
However the 182 I drve with them on was great and my mate uses them on his car and says there very good.

Na mate, been driving for 10 years and cover over 20k a year.
If anything its probobly why i noticed such a big difference strait away, I am so used to the car and the way it feels, 100 miles is more than enough to tell what the tyres are like ( and are gonna stay like) in the wet or dry!

Dooby, I had a Ford Racing Puma (two in fact!)...and I stupidly bought Toyo T1-S tyres and when I got the car back from the tyre fitter I honestly felt it was dangerous to drive....the rear-end would roll really badly on small steering inputs and pushing the car hard was something only a very brave man would do.

I even had the Toyo rep come and visit me at work (excellent customer service) but he said everything I was feeling was normal. I changed the tyres within a week to Potenza's (which still weren't as stiff as the P7000's they replaced).

Lesson learnt.
