NEW TYRES PIRELLI

Hi, Just bought a set of 4 Pirelli P Zero "Neros" for my 172 mk2 after replacing my contis with goodrich.

Choose Pirelli after my regular tyre suppliers said goodrich were a 3 to 4 week wait.

This is my third set at 22,000 miles on the front and the first time i replaced the contis on the back.

Not sure how they look on the car (pirelli)but they feel better (slightly) compared to the goodrich and miles better than the contis.

Goodrich tyre looked more agressive and better value (£50 ) for a complete set of four quoted but pirelli dont set the wheels of as good (appearance wise)

Pirelli =Excellent road handling on the bends and superior grip in a straight line. They hold the road better on bends - it feels as if the tyres are taughter on the walls compared to conti and goodrich. The car feels more precise since the "Zeros" were fitted.

Have anyone else bought pirellis ? if so what do you think of them compared to the other options?

Just thought i would mention my experience in case anyone else was looking at pirelli for thier 172.

Whats other people choices as their best tyre for the 172 mk 2?

Cheers,

Pete

Welcome to the board geezer

A lot of people are going for the Goodyear Eagle f1s at the moment, but the Neros are also a very good tyre from what Ive heard. Keep us updated on em!

  MEGANE

I saw a set on saturday look like they will be good in the wet(deep drainage channels) but i went for the michelins!!

Hey guys, thanks for the comments.

The Pirellis dont look as good as the goodrich but wasnt made aware of the goodyear eagle .

what price did you get a set for ?

the Pirellis are excellent in the wet as you mentioned (pep87) but for me they dont look as good on the rims.

the car does feel like it stick to the road though in wet and dry when flooring her ! something the contis never did or the goodrich !

cheers white16valver / pep87

I decided to go for the Eagle F1s, they are one of the more expensive tyres usually coming in at around £80-90 per corner, I got a full set fitted for £300 which worked out quite well. Havent used the car since so I cant tell you my experience but I think from a looks point of view they are great.
