So i had 3 days and a lowly D40 with 18-70mm. No filters, no hoods, and a pregnant wife in tow.

View from our hotel room onto 7th - could see right up to times square.

Awesome photos, really capture & give you an idea of just what NY is like, was there last summer for a 3-4 days, seems like yesterday now looking at those pics :) definately gonna go back in the near future.

stunning,

Considering I lived there and don't have any pics that good I wish I did, are something to be proud of, should thing about selling them, I would buy some.

Best thing to do Brad is to check the exif data and go from there, and practice. Settings used in that one were:

# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 10/250 second = 1/25 second = 0.04 second
# Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 42/10 = F4.2
# Exposure Program = aperture priority (3)
# ISO Speed Ratings = 800

What camera do you have?

Hey Feirny,

At the moment I don't! Have been thinking about it for while now though as I would love to be able to take shots like these. I've just had a quick look at the "how to" by Askew which looks a great help.

Might drop you a PM at some point for advice on a camera if thats cool? probably going to be looking at an entry level one So I guess it will be the Nikon D40 or canon 350D/400D models?

No worries mate, plenty of us round here to help out, I'm not the best, most will recommend their own brand Nikon/Canon/Sony, but choose what you like the feel of.
