So i had 3 days and a lowly D40 with 18-70mm. No filters, no hoods, and a pregnant wife in tow.

View from our hotel room onto 7th - could see right up to times square.

Awesome photos, really capture & give you an idea of just what NY is like, was there last summer for a 3-4 days, seems like yesterday now looking at those pics definately gonna go back in the near future.

Best thing to do Brad is to check the exif data and go from there, and practice. Settings used in that one were:

# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 10/250 second = 1/25 second = 0.04 second
# Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 42/10 = F4.2
# Exposure Program = aperture priority (3)
# ISO Speed Ratings = 800

Hey Feirny,

At the moment I don't! Have been thinking about it for while now though as I would love to be able to take shots like these. I've just had a quick look at the "how to" by Askew which looks a great help.

Might drop you a PM at some point for advice on a camera if thats cool? probably going to be looking at an entry level one So I guess it will be the Nikon D40 or canon 350D/400D models?

No worries mate, plenty of us round here to help out, I'm not the best, most will recommend their own brand Nikon/Canon/Sony, but choose what you like the feel of.
