newbie after a clio!

hi guys, im new to the world of clios currently drive a saxo vtr so think the clio is a reasonable step up. wont be getting one until my insurance is up in june, looking around 4-4.5k and thought i was limited to 172's but have started to see 182 cups etc.
what is the best model to go for? cant you get non cup models with cup packs and stuff like that? ive yet to do any test drives but still not entirely sure what im looking at!

In your position, I would buy a late 2003 172... has all the toys and cheap as chips.

Or, if you prefer driving to posing... a 172 cup fits the bill well.
