HAve obtained a file with newsleecher and used quick par to eht par file it says 1844 blocks missing, now what? i dont understand Griff's stickie? from that point onward?

how do i unpause a par file d/l as the d/l has finished?

tried something again and it says i need some more blocks?? wheree can one obtain these blocks?

could it be that my powerusenet has a 125 day retention and that the file i obtained is 136 days old?

means that you need the rest of the PAR files, or there maybe some missing. 1844 is a lot of missing blocks so that suggest u need a lot more par files

how do i get these par files? there are 4 assoc with the d/l and i have used quickPar with them

You would need a lot of par files to fix that many blocks!!
Suggest you find another copy of whatever you are downloading. There are loads of ways of searching usenet what do you use?

hmm if there are only 4 and you have them all then im not sure - only ever had that once and i've d/l a fair few things off there. I gave up with mine and waited for the rest of the PARs to be uploaded :S
You done this before or is it your first attempt?

If you are using newsleecher go into the log and see what it says in there. Will most likely say that the article is not on the server. Meaning you will need to look for another version of it.

That means it is not on your usenet providers site, however try editing your server settings making sure they are correct. And also turn on advanced debugging that might give you some more information. Try downloading other stuff as well to see if the problem is just with one download.
