Nikon lenses

  Track valver + Ibiza FR
I've been looking at buying a 70-300mm sigma lense and I'm not sure if it fits my Nikon D60? Can anybody confirm if it does or not?

Is there any sigma lenses that will fit my D60?

I'm after a longer lense for motorsport, can anybody recommend any?

Cheers

Jams

You will need the Sigma 70-300 that states HSM, that way it will auto focus on the D60.

Cheers JJ :), where did you get that list of the lenses that will fit from?

Worth pointing out:

There is a big difference between "fit" and "will autofocus", the basic connections are the same as any Nikon has been for donkeys years, pretty much anything will work on a D40/60, the key is whether it will autofocus or not. Only the autofocus motor is missing from those cameras, the actual lens connection is unchanged and pretty much has been since about 1977.

For example, the Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye isn't on that 'compatibility' list, yet it will work perfectly well on a D40/60 as autofocus is as good as redundant on a fisheye.

Cheers for the advice people :). Can you tell me what APO means on some of the lenses.

70-300mm f/4,0-5,6 DG Macro HSM New
70-300mm f/4,0-5,6 DG APO Macro HSM New

Like these two, the only difference is APO. What does it mean?

Essentially it's a higher quality glass which can help minimize the 'purple fringing' you get on some photos, which in turn should make the photos a bit sharper.

Thanks for that mate!!
