i seem to have hardly any bass from the 6x9s when the sound is set to rear central. however when the speakers are set to rear left or rear right there is loads. when set to middle of front and middle of rear there seems a lot from the front but hardly any from the back
From the sounds of it, its just the settings on the H/U mate.
Are u running an amp? If so, there should be controls on that, best thing to do, is just play around with the settings on ur H/U untill u find wot u like.
have had a mess with the settings but they still sound the same and still arent producing as much bass as the front ones which were quite cheap speakers. the 6x9s seem to produce loads of treble when set in the rear centre but it sounds fine when set to rear left or rear right. they are the jbl p953 6x9s!
It sounds like they are out of phase like others have already said.
Check that the wire that goes to the + on the speaker comes from the + from the head unit for both speakers.
If the + from the head unit goes to the - on one of the speakers you are 180 degrees out of phase. Basically one speaker will do the opposite of the other. So when one moves out, the other will move in.
This does not affect trebble much, but bass gets badly affected by it.
