Non Contract Broadband

Ok, I want to get braodband but im not sure how long im staying at my current house so i dont really want to commit to a years contract so does anyone know of a half decent broadband offer that isnt stupidly expensive that is month by month or at most a 6 month contract?

Newnet, been with them 2 years with no real issues, good speeds, good ping times and no downtime. Monthly contract which is what I needed to.

Newnet looked good but when you read the small print it says:

"Up to 24meg broadband download subject to availability and survey. Initial roll out begins in Portsmouth. Actual line speeds will depend on line length and line quality. 3 months notice of termination required. Home LITE 12/24 minimum term 12 months. Terms and Conditions apply."

Which to me means if i cancel inside the first year then i will still have to pay the remaining amount?

most companies only make money if you are with them for at least 12 months so would be surprised if you get a decent deal on a month to month basis. I would like to do the same but cant see it happening im afraid

I'm on virgin.net 8mb no contract at home. Its much better than reported.

I have the £20 contract deal for £15 as I was going to cancel and get a cheeper contract one, but they offered me that.

30 day contract period, cancel any time with no charge.

If you don't already have broadband on your line, an initial setup fee of £47 (which BT charge us) is payable.

If you do already have broadband, you can transfer (migrate) to us for free (or £47 for LLU) with no downtime.

This is wires only so you will have to buy your own broadband equipment.

Bloody expensive if you dont want download caps! Would be cheaper signing up to a 12 month contract and paying the termination fee!

Only the poverty spec is a year. Everything else is 3 months notice. You'd be able to transfer it though.

Most have a homemover's policy, which my mate Ray and I wrote. Hard to beleive, but it's true.

In fairness if you move home just cancel the payments, so what if they block your line ;)
