Non-sport lowering queries

  Clio Mk2 Phase 1
Recently found out I've got a cracked rear spring and my MOT is at the end of Jan.

Now I'm not asking how low to go because I can work that out myself. I do wanna know though (because I've heard this on the site) is that is there any point in 35/40mm lowering because its been said its 60mm or you wont notice any difference.

Clio 2000 1.2 8v by the way.

I don't wanna buy 35/40mm and find out that its made no difference.

Cheers guys!

40 mm will look nice, its proper subtle though. Your car won't look slammed till like 80 at least.

Whn you first fit them it won't look much differe.t you'll have to wait for it to settle. Go for 60mm all round in my opinion mate.

Hope this helped :)

My car doesn't really sit high as it is though so that's why I'm wondering if 40mm would be low because looking at it now 60mm will be sitting in the arches lol. Best to go measure the distance from tyre to arch I guess..

My point exactly. I have to buy new springs now because of the cracked one I have at the back so I don't wanna buy something that's not gonna lower it to the amount I want and have to buy another set, which is why I'm here asking for a bit of guidance lol.

My guidance would be to buy standard or spend a decient amount and buy a whole new suspension springs and dampers.

Nah not for this bucket, just gonna go have a look at it tomorrow and roughly measure up how much to drop it by and just drop it.

Aint putting money into a 1.2 8v as I don't see a point in spending too much on it because I'll be selling it on again shortly.

Cheers for the input edde.

One thing you can do (serious) is get a skoda splitter which alone will make it look (front front angles obviously) 20mm lower.

My 182 looked too high at the front without a splitter, fit an £11 fabia vRS one and it instantly looked a million times better.

Ah yeah gotta get that on the go also. Easy to fit iirc, self tappers just then trim the edges where needed?
