Nos on RSi

Easy guys, read the one i posted afterwards........ didnt realise it was just for a laugh, we are afterall entitiled to our own opinions arent we?

Would get it from a 480! lol

Can drop it in, but with the gearbox as well then it becomes more of a project. I believe that Malice has done it so I am looking to speak to him if I decide to do it!

Suprised you agree, after all it would still be an RSi and I would just stack it on a corner as you valvers scream past!!!

Isnt everything we do just a game with these cars? It still bites when someone has a real downer on what you are intending to do without any real knowledge or constructive critisism.

Fair enuff. Have to admit - ive always wanted to do something like it! Sad thing is, i cant afford it! Good luck to u.:D

well that put a downer on things!

The whole point is if u blow up the engine jus a reason to upgrade it ;)

the amount of times people moan at everyone for addin BHP to smaller engines!

the only thing im gonna say Nick is..........I CALL SHOTGUN!!!!:D

Bonjour.

50bhp isnt much strain at all and i would only go for a wet kit as its far easier to install and more reliable, due to installation.

you can run 50bhp all day no probs with appropriate ignition retardation and as long as your plugs dont promote pre ig.

Mechanically its strong enough, dont worry, so long as you dont decide to switch it on at idle, i would wait till about 3000rpm before you activate it via full throttle (micro switch). If not, the massive torque jump is what breaks stuff, not increaed wear (as it doesnt occur).....its the torque that kills at low rpm, high rpm teh engine doesnt see too much difference to running off N20.

If you want to run any higher youll need to r****d ignition more and wait longer till you kick it in, but this will ruin off N20 driving. So a progressive controller, although expensive will help you run more advance when off N20.

If i still can get them, wizard kits are about 300-320 quid.

If you can get more buyers i can knock the price down ALOT.

Enjoy, its fun, i have it for little spurts.

when u say more reliable due to installation, wot do u actually mean??

damage only occurs (providing the engine is in good state of tune, and ridiculous ammounts of N2O arent added!!) when the system either isnt installed or designed properly, so detonation occurs due to incorrect A/F ratio (soaring temps).

the reason why a wet system is less likely to cause damage to the engine (tho it still can if not designed prorperly) is that with a dry system the enrichment is provided by the original fuel system, and only a preset ammount of fuel is added along with the normal via the standard injectors. now, no intake manifold is perfect in that distribution to the cylinders is not always equal. so if one cylinder takes more N2O than than is expected by the fuelling system, detonation can occur due to a lean mixture.

Ben, if you make it back to here... WOuld you be interested in helping me fit and adjust this kind of thing?

lol...wheres here?

FItting is very simple....ill get some pics of my crude setup to show you and if you can wire a stereo then your fine.

And setting the fueling........i cna help yes.

I only meant back to the thread Ben...

Wahoo, if I do it I will make sure I pass by your way on my way down to the coast!

Wouldnt be until summer anyway...

Thanks.

I have been told they go in easier than GTT engines.

Few years a go I blew up an RT and said to the RAC mechanic that I might stick a GTT lump in and he recomended I go for the Volvo lump instead.

Its the same engine thats why!

Yep, the RSi and the Volvo lump are the same basic engine base, just different internals! That why it fits straight in!

Get both, then you wont suffer from turbo-lag, and you can plug in an intercooler chiller unit as well.
