Not bad for £600!

Well the car was £600 which I didn't think was bad for a 69k 1.4RT. Plenty of features and drives spot on.

Had a bit of rust that I've had removed and a dent on the door. Also the passenger door lock had been bent in by someone with a screwdriver but managed to replace the whole door from a scrapped white 1993 RT.

Hasn't turned out too bad -

*Wheels were off my previous Renault 5*

Here's the rust I had repaired

chopped out the rust metal

and now looks like this

Well I would but I should have stated, I didn't do the rust myself haha. Cost me a couple of hundred for that. But its worth it.

It is a bit of a 4x4 but better than hub caps and as a second car its a great little car.

I plan on getting it back up to scratch. The paintwork needs some good waxing and polishing to get the shine up to what I like.

Also the black trim is very grey and I've heard that applying heat from a hairdryer can bring it back up. Dunno how true that is.

That's like strapping buttered toast the the back of a cat and pushing it off a building...would it flaot in mid air?

Would two turtles strapped to the back of each other be able to dominate the world??

Or it could be true...never tried it though

Interesting concepts but slightly irrelevant haha.

I might give it a try, nothing to lose by giving it a go. If not I'll head down the scrappy and get some trim off a newer one.

The interior is actually the best bit of the car. The outside needed some cleaning/t-cutting/polishing/waxing etc.

But the inside needed a wipe doen and vacuum and came up nice. Not bad for a 13 year old car.

This was the passenger door but I got the new one of a scrapped white, 5 door 1993 RT which I found at a local scrap yard!! lol

Replacement door was £75 haha.

Lower it! It'll only take you an hour or two to fit some cheap springs (gmax £45 larkspeed) and adjust the torsion bar would look 10x better.

Yeah I'll get round to it at some point.

I'm actually moving out in May so really need to be sensible and buy stuff for the house.

I'm sure I'll spare some cash toward it at some point though. The Megane has a few extra bits that need doing though.

I have a carbon effect boot strip if you want that for £25.00 including delivery???

Its in really great condiction and will change the rear of your car. It will debadge it and leave it with a nice carbon effect strip.

Cheers mate. At first I was disheartened by it as it wasn't a patch on the mintness* of my old Renault 5.

ive tried a hot air gun on a corsa wheel arch that was really faded an that worked
if not simply scotch it mask it up an spray it black with bumper paint
mite need sum adhesive aid 1st
