172

Yeah, it is high milage, for just over a year old, and i know the import should sell cheaper, than a standard u.k. car. Anyone else want to add what they think, would be much appreciated! Cheers, chris.

The car in question is mine and id like to see you guys show me a £7500 2004 172 for sale anywhere???

Covkid has a point I have a identical 172 for sale at the mo(same price, age, milleage but standard) and a dealer phoned me yesterday and offered me more than the 7.5k you chaps are quoting for a private sale.

7.5k? Get real. Im sorry but I find it hard to see how any car could lose so much value in one year of ownership. Parkers dont list the 172 and Ive only got access to a Glasses guide at home (via my other halfs dad).

Considering that an 04 plate 1.6 16v 5dr Privilege Clio (new cost £11k+) is now worth £6.8k in a private sale 9figs according to http://www.parkers.co.ukwww.parkers.co.uk), I dont believe a similar age 172 is worth only £700 more. £8.5k sounds a more realistic price.

And all of us wonder why our clios arnt holding their prices...

Sometimes i wonder if people on this forum think before they reply to threads???

JUST FOR THE RECORD ->

Id like to thank Edde, MSA, and Cupcake.. Due to your thoughtful replys chris thought my price was high and i had to reduce the price by £200 as a gesture of good faith.

CHEERS F0R THAT !!

I dont see what your problem is if you dont want to sell for that price dont sell. The parkers guide price doesnt mean anything Im sure cocopops cars worth more than the price he sold if for so is he wrong to sell at the price he did?

 Clio 1.6 16v 2003

why spend 8.5k on a 172 when u can get a 182 for a little over 9k some well below that price with average mileage.

My problem is the fact your reply to this thread had no basis in reality what so ever... and has basically cost me £200.

Can you even say what your valuation is based on???? Have you actually seen or heard of a 2004 172 sell anywhere for £7500?? Because i havnt?? And im sure that anyone thats read this thread agrees

And before anyone wants to jump on the band wagon... just think !!!! Its not just my car he is de-valueing .. Its anyone who drives a clio

cheers

 A well built VW

Sorry covkid if you wanted £7.5k why didnt you just stick it out for £7.5k Dont blame others at the end of the day its your car, your price and your decision on how much to sell it for not theirs , an opinion was asked a reply given , it is a discussion forum after all

Youve sold your car and for just £200 less than the asking price , that to me doesnt seem too bad its a slow market be glad its gone and look forward to spending the money

what are you talking about???? I didnt want to sell my car for 7.5k nor did i sell it for 7.5k!!!!!!

Have u actually read this thread???
