As the title says really!
But to give a bit more info driving back home today the car (ph1 172) was spot on for the first part of the journey (Chatham to Edinburgh) and running really well but after stopping at the toll road services it started to fell like it was stuttering at normal speeds. If you floored it then it pulled fine.
After about 70 miles or so at 75mph the stuttering got noticeably worse and the exhaust emissions light began to flash. So I did what any man would do and put the foot down a wee bit and taht switched it off until I once again sat at about 75mph. This happened a few times so I slowed it down to 60mph and whilst the light didnt come on for the remaining 240 miles it just doesnt feel right under light load. Especially when going downhill where it almost kangaroos if you touch the throttle lightly.
My initial thoughts are coil pack, or lambda sensor or TDC sensor but which one is most likely?
Car has got 95000 on it and has been serviced fully and on time.
Just like to add that Pete who sold me the car did so in good faith and was very open and upfront about any known niggles so I dont want this becoming a blame game! He couldnt have known this was going to happen. And the savings I made by sitting at 60mph (46.5mpg for 480 miles) will pay for the repairs!
Cheers
John
