Not the usual ambient temperature sensor fault !

Not the usual ambient temperature sensor fault here, so please read on.

So, 2 years ago the original ( 21 year old ) sensor in my 172 Cup went haywire ( reading + 40c ) and I replaced it with an ebay unit. All worked fine until a couple of
weeks ago, when the temp started showing -8, -9 etc.

I bought another ebay unit and swapped it yesterday - low and behold, this now shows pretty much the same -8, -9 etc !

Is there any way to test these “thermistors” with a multimeter ? I tried the ohm setting on my MM and neither old or new sensor show anything – I’m rubbish with electrics tbh.

Could it be a wiring fault from the sensor in the door mirror > lcd panel causing the issue ?

I’m not sure where to look next.

Thanks for reading and any help !
