Notchy McNotcherson clutch pedal

Hey ho everyone......the saga continues.

So right, my clutch pedal is notchy and croaky (its all i can think of) it squeaks from what appears to be the bulkhead or pedal.

Now I know this was cured in my Civic with a clutch change, must have lightened the stress the pedal etc was under and the croak wen but do we know if this is a similar story on el Clio's?

Does the clutch cover get cut up introducing ridges and hence notchiness and CROAKS of course?

First of all, try changing the cable.

See, i disconnected the cable from the clutch engine side and it seemed to move very smooth and free

I'm having this too. I hoped that changing the clutch will solve the problem but hell no.. the noise comes from inside the box, right where the fork rests on the release bearing causing friction and noise. When installed the new clutch last october the guy who did the job copper greased the fork and for two days the noise was gone. maybe a new fork will cure this as I imagine there is a moment when the wear at the contact point between fork/bearing becomes too much and it starts to squeak like hell. this is the only explanation I could think of. clutch cable is good no doubt about that

I had this and had clutch changed. Came back and I changed the upper gearbox mount and it's gone.

^no help with this as I have new k-tec mounts all round (inc dogbobe poly) and made no diff

Well, I see where the fork rests on the White nubbin inside the clutch housing.

I suppose there is potential for friction or gaunching there if not lubed correctly.

The manual refers to molykote stuff for that, I can't find it anywhere, any alter atives?
