Novice Help!

  V6 230
Hi,

I am after doing a good clean of my black ph1 today and was after a quick bit of advice!

I know that a PC is the best, however could I use something like this: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...logId=10151&productId=189810&categoryId=31443

Or should I just do it by hand?? As I have some swirl marks and minor scratches (as you would expect from a 7 year old car :dapprove:)

I was thinking:
Autoglym shampoo
Megs clay kit
Megs scratch X
Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine

Would this be ok for a relatively cheap clean?

Thanks in advance :)

I would not waste your time with the Halfords polisher, you will produce more polishing power by hand.

Rest of the process is ok, I am not a fan of the Autoglym Car Wash or the Ultra Deep Shine.

Better off with the Zymol Car Wash or Meguiars gold Glass Wash if you want to get something in Halfords, or lots of other options much better if you do want to shop around/online ?

I would also use Autoglym Super Resin and then the Extra Gloss Sealant. It is a extra step but will produce better results than the UDS.

On a Black car a coat of Carnuba Wax is a worth while step just for looks.

Thanks, just saved me £30 of Halfords rubbish then :)

So could I use scratch X and the others by hand then?

Scratch X is formulated for hand use. It is hard work and will needed repeated applications in small areas to do it's thing. The rest are fine by hand.
