Now fully aligned!

Finally managed to get the car a full four-wheel laser alignment this morning.

Readings were way out and I'm extremely impressed with the results, car feels so much more planted and I have regained confidence pushing it through corners once more! :approve:

Combined with the K-Tec coilovers, it seems like an excellent setup for the money!

I'll post up the readings in a sec, when it stops raining, as they're still in the car!

Where did you go for it to be done, Da? I had mine done at Tweeks a few years ago and the initial measurement was that they were waaaay out.

Had it done and the feeling/feedback was superb. But it then chewed through the front tyres in no time. :(

I'm kind of reluctant to have it done again, really....

Booked it through www.alignmycar.co.uk and used a garage over near Halifax named Sunside Service Station Darren.

Guy seemed very knowledgeable so hopefully I wont have any tyre issues!

why haven't they got the front camber equal? :S

And thats the 1st time i've seem the rear camber identical without the use of shims.

can you post your sheet up?

Might be best to give the garage a call as it really depends on the work that is needed to align the car.
Will do, did you mention the 5% voucher? Just seems a bit petty.

Its just my tracking is out a bit, and everytime i have took it to be done (tried 3 places now) and they have knocked the steering wheel out of alignment.

My dad got it done at the honda dealer and it was £100, so guess it wont be anymore than that.

Yeah the 5% voucher saved me £2.40 on the alignment :)

My bill was similar so yeah a good ball park figure I guess.

Oh and yes Scott, definitely worth it! Will save tyre wear if nothing else.

^^ Thats unusual! Here are mine:

My rear needs camber shims to get it spot on.

Im going to wait for the coils to settle properly then going to go back and get them adjusted properly.

Lol, I really don't get it tbh all I know is the car feels totally different now and I'm happy - that's the main thing :)

Hi Da,

I'm sure your happy with the car as it was quite a way out on the front last time, but i wouldn't be happy with the front camber, both are within the specified book setting, but both have the adjustability to be bang on, so why they're out i've no idea.

I'd be inclined to take it back and ask then to get them both to 0.45, that's 3/4 of a degree negative and that's what the book works from according to the print out.

That rear camber is spot on(as in equal both sides without shims) i'd love it mine was like that :dapprove:

erm something bent? your castors a long way out
Its not way out - Its just a tad over the reccomended "levels" thats in the machine...

Like I say I am going to go back sometime next week when the coils have settled and get the rear camber/everything else sorted.

Iv got an understeer issue aswell lol.

Thanks for the advice Chris, I shall give the garage a call tomorrow and see what they say.

Boosh, I'd be more worried about havin a mm more toe on the left rear than slightly more caster, power steering will offset and negative effect of that, although it would be nice to have it closer.

Seem to just be working to get them in a tolerance which is shite IMO. If you;re doing it, it could all be bang on.

Yeh Dave... Il go back asap and get it re-done. They said they will make any adjustments FOC anyway!

You'll need shims to sort the rear out Luke :dapprove:

as for the front caster, don't worry about it, it's non adjustable and as such i've had to run all year with a difference of 1 degree from left to right, yours is a 1/4 of that.

Chris

So would you not worry about anything in my set up bar the rear camber chris?

As you alter the rear camber the toe moves too, so you need to address both issues, 1st off get it back on the machine and get the camber equal, you'll then probably get away with a 10 or 20 minute shim to equal the toe out too.

As for the front end, everythings fine except the castor, and that's not adjustable in anyway, so just leave it, not that a 15 minute difference is going to be really noticeable for road use, plus it's been like that all the time you've had the car.

Let me know when your going back down and i'll see if i can make it along ;)
