Time youve wrote this you could have gathered all your documents and had them made up!
Doubt you'll get this done on the sly. There clamping down very heavy on reg plate laws now.
A new one coming soon is you will have to get the place who made your plates up address at the bottom of the plate or your car wont pass a MOT !!

just the postcode... its the current law.

aye thats already in force, it also has to be clearly visible like at our place the printer chopped some of the bottom of letters off . all of our sales cars that have had an mot have failed from this

currect post code on it is W12 etc, reno place, does that mean eventually id have to go back there to get it done?or id fail my MOT if i wasnt to get it now, i didnt know about this

nah it doesnt mater where you get plates from as long as they have the postcode of where they were made.

Got a bit mixed with the address law 'coming in' lol

This is whats coming in (taken from a Scottish site) .

I have been advised that from 1st October past if your number plates are not legal you vehicle will fail it's MOT test. They will no longer be applying the rule that if they easily read then they would pass evn if not complying with the legal requirements.

You can have your postcode printed with your name as well - i was told that was legal!! looks a lot better than having a random postcode with a bloody shop name as well

just had the other halfs clio back after being repaired on the front end after a bump.. so it has the original plate on the rear & a new un on the front.... back came from bolton garage when new.front Kv preston... so differant postcodes showing....
should be fun mot time by the sound of things....
