I've read a fair few good reviews about the Orbit, so I'm surprised by your post.

What makes it s**t in your opinion?

Just called them, I can have the 02 XDA Orbit + 600 mins, 1000 texts and unlimited calls on a few days a week for £35 on 18 month contract BUT I cannot have the sat nav software unless I pay £49.99.

Any tips on how I could get the sat nav software free from them?

Just realised that what they have offered me is now a standard offer for new customers- emailed them seeing if they will throw the sat nav in as the "something extra for loyalty" that they advertise on their upgrade section of the site.

violentj - yes that is a standard online deal. say to them that you have been with them for 12/18 months and that isnt good. Say Phones 4 U offered you a N95 on orange £35pm 500m and unlimited txt with 3 years FREE sat nav ;) see what they can do.

N95 is slow and can crash but you can get updates so dont worry too much about that. Prada will piss you off after about 3 days and the E65 is a wicked phone. Very relaiable and does alot of stuff if you wish i believe you can get sat nav on there as well.

Serg, does that mean the sat nav software on the 02 XDA Orbit requires a monthly fee? I thought there were no fees attached to sat nav unless you went down the live traffic updates option?

My email to them got me nowhere, they just replied with a standard reply about upgrades telling me to call them.

Just checked and phones4u don't offer that XDA Orbit, so I doubt I can blag that one, in fact they only do PAYG on 02 phones.

Right, chose the Samsung U600 in the end on a cheaper tariff than the one I'm on at the moment as I realised I wasn't using anywhere near my bundled minutes and texts (I sent 6 texts last month!) . 4-5 days delivery time! :(

Those 6 texts were actually to my bank for an up to date balance as well. lol

Sometimes it's just easier to call someone than exchange 10 mins worth of texts.

why is there such a missconcpetion about n95s?

Mine is very fast, batt lasts 2-3 days with avarage use and its crashed once, in a month of ownership and thats only because I was overloading it.

Unless your a hardcore business type, the e65 is poor. Seriosly slow.

I've just checked my mum's account for her and rather than discounting her tariff by £10 this month they've added it onto her bill :D I reckon she best phone and shout at them tomorrow. Useless b******s.

all network providers are only doing decent deals with 18 month contracts. And imo the o2 select thing is a load of b****cks, i got offered the same deal as a mate who is on it and i had only been with them 1 year

Not always true, I am on my third year with O2 and as a Select customer they offered me 2000 texts & 1000 mins for £35 a month because of the price of my phone bills. The other option was 2000 mins & 500 texts or so. Maybe this was because I upgraded onto an 18 month contract though.
