O2 Upgrade

I was going to get the K810i on a free upgrade from O2, but they've put me onto a sim only tarriff, 200 mins and 200 texts for £15 a month. Then when the K850i is out, i can go back onto a 12 month contract and get the phone for free.

Tom phone is released by Sony Q3 2007, aka October.

Clart, I upgraded my contract last month with O2 after being with them for 3 years. They're nowhere near as good with upgrades as they used to, last year they offered me the earth, gave me 500 minutes 200 texts and 1/2 price rental meaning £15 a month.

However this time on upgrading they couldn't offer me that at all. I had to haggle and moan to about 6 people before I secured a K810i 500 minutes, 400 texts and Myeurope on a 12mth contract for £22.50.

They also told me (confirmed by a few folk) that before the end of the year O2 and indeed all phone companies will only be offering 18mth/24mth contracts to (cue laughing) cut down on the environmental impact from mobile phone upgrades and to decrease paper usage - cough.

I'd say your hopes of getting a K850 free are doubtful, as are your chances of securing a 12 month contract later this year. For the record they wanted to charge me £80 to upgrade to a N95 on a £30 tariff, and £130 on a £25 tariff.

Also hearing O2 will soon be completely bought out, and mass redundancies within their company.

The retention department deals from o2 are terrible now, I'll probably be considering other options later this year when my renewal is due.

Hoff if that's true i'll be looking elsewhere when I come to renew in Ocotober, i'm not being tied to an 18/24 month contract.
I bet their customers will leave them in their droves if that's the case.

That is exactly what i'm going to do too I think. Although you should get 400 texts for £15 ! Check the website

i was like that, i was on 750 minutes and 750 txts for £35, they cudnt offer nefin simila this time so i went 2 orange had 500 mins unlimited txt, 100 money back 4 a trade in, a free digital photo frame and i`ve had my missus as a magic number so i can ring her unlimited times
