Obsession

  Ziel Nurburgring

Do you think your devotion to your clio borders on obsession? Some people on here defend their clios to the very last, think its the be all and end all of cars, and talk about it like a member of the family when in reality its just a piece of tin and plastic.

Some people think they are the fasted cars in the world, myself however knows its a little french piece of sh*t.

I love my car, as I have all cars I owned. I wouldnt say it goes any further than a healthy enthusiasm for me.

I know if the right woman came along and it had to go it would. In fact its due to a woman I purchased my 172 so they arent all bad. LOL

Now thats just being nasty for the sake of it Pete, to get a reaction. You wouldnt still have it if you didnt enjoy it.

pete i like your way of thinking :)

i have been saying that for many months but n one listened ;)

I enjoy driving it and do love the car, but I do appriciate at the end of the day its really is just a Clio with a bigish engine, its still badly put together and unreliable.

However you cant get quicker for the same money (Im talking new production cars).

So true.

On the subject of Skodas my old man is looking at getting something sensible as his parents have problems getting in and out of his Celica. I got home last night and my mom said "you had better have a word with your dad, hes looking at Skodas now" obviously I pointed out its just a cheap VW and a very good car, to which she replied "I dont care, itll always be a Skoda in my mind and we arent having one". Bless, shes great my mom.

I love my car. It comes first but then I dont have a girlfriend or kids, live with parents so why not.

Ive always had a soft spot for Clios ever since my mum went to a Renault garage to buy a 5 Campus and I set eyes on a Willy 1. Since then, the 172 and Cup have caught my eye. Like its mentioned above, pound for pound I dont think you can buy a more fun car but it rattles and shakes so much that I now have RSI in my whole body.

I remember that machine.

I have always liked the Clio since the RSi/16V and then when I could afford my own car the Clio was always gonna be one of the favourites BUT its only metal and if anything bad did happen to it I wouldnt be suicidal! Also, as well as the 172/182/Cup, there are a few other motors that take my fancy for my next car but Ill always have a soft spot for the Clio
