Official Hello

I've had my 182 cup for a few weeks now and although I've posted a few times on the forum, I wanted to officially say Hello to everybody and put a few decent pictures up of my Inferno 182!

This is my first Renault! My previous cars have included a Saxo VTR, 106 Rallye (s1 and s2) 306 Rallye and a CTR and I'm a little miffed it's taken me this long to finally own a hot Renault. Now I've got my 182 I'm loving it.

Very nice, welcome to Cliosport, I love the wheels. How does the 182 compare to the CTR.

They're very different cars! The clio feels much neater to drive(as you'd expect from a smaller car). The handling really is on a different level to the civic. The engine and 'box on the CTR were great, really great but I've been pleasently supprised how nice the gearbox is on the clio! If you want a car that flys in a straight line and grips like mad round the bends, then the CTR is great, but if you want a purer driving experience with decent steering feel and a well resolved chassis then the clio is head and shoulders better!

How do you find it compared to the 306 Rallye?

I never really loved my 306 in the same way as I loved my 106 Rallyes. I bought the 306 as 'the next step up' from my series 2 106 Rallye and was a little disappointed. I'm probably the only person in the world who doesn't really like the way the 306 handles! I found that because it had a heavy 2 litre engine hanging way over the front wheels it was alway a little 'nose lead' in the way it handled. I even got skipp brown suspension for it and still i wasn't convinced! Maybe I'm just mad! It was great on the track to be fair!

I know what you mean - I could never chuck my 306 Xsi 16v (same struts/rear beam set up as the Rallye/GTi afaik) around like I could my past Peugeot GTi's or 182.

oh and i thought the same about the 306, i went from a Clio Cup to a GTI-6 and felt the difference in handling due to the weight, probably why i then bought another Cup

Yeah, it should have a cup badge on the door pillar.

You can see in this pic what the 182 CUP badge looks like. The dealer might of not put them on when the car was bought originally.
Best colour to get! Looks good with the Trophy wheels.
