Offset

Hello everyone,

I need some help.

Im considering buying a set of wheels of a chap on this forum called paul who is breaking a phase 1 172, but will they a) fit my mk1 ph1 16v b) will the offset be ok?

I dont really Know about offset. Paul told me the offset of his wheels is: 7Jx15-4 H2 43

What is my offset? How can I find it out. I think I understand what offset means, but what do those numbers all stand for?

Ask Jas he has Mk1 172 wheels on his 16v. Think its with 5mm spacers.

I used 5mm spacers on mine, and it handles great. Just make sure you buy very good quality spacers (not those universal-fit ones with loads of holes in).

they should fit fine with a 5-7mm spacer....

Right, great thanks people. Where should i g to get spacers specifically for the job.

Have you got any pictures of your Valver Jas. Id love to see how they look on there?

night.icon can probably help with the spacers, as I bought mine off him.

heres a pic of my car, it has AVO coilovers (the front is lower now, after I adjusted it too much!!!)
