Oh the shame :( What disc to use?

I have some photos and some small video clips from my trip to Beijing on my PC and l want to put them on a disc to show the family.What type of disc do l need to burn them to if they are to work on a normal telly DVD player?

Deppends... cd-r would b ok if its least than 700mb - or a DVD-r how ever... this all deppends on whether the dvd player is compatible...

If it's a new DVD player, some allow you to just plug a USB stick into em

Not that new ...a couple of years old and its a Sanyo somethingorother !

I think the DVD-r discs are the ones i've tried but the DVD player says 'not compatible'.

but you will need to convert the video so it can be read by the dvd player

not sure that would work would it, if it does then it must be a feature of your dvd player, as i don't think they all do this.

In Nero, there is a wizard to make a dvd photo disc to play in a dvd player, think you can also put videos on too and in converts them for you to be able to play on the dvd player.
