Already gone to the scrappers.. Took it today.

It's a guy that lives in Halifax that owns it. Only a 1.2 but someone didn't take a liking to him for whatever reason.

It's fully driveable, just it needs a more or less full body respray hence the writing off part...

If it was brakes fluid you couldn't respray it.

Brake fluid gets into the metal and will just melt all the paint you put over it.

Happened to my mams friends new megane 225 in a vendeta attack.

got wrote straight off for that reason.

No idea chris, Wife works in an accident repair centre and it was brought in at the beginning of the week, but the estimator decided it was a drivable write-off. Parts of the bare metal are heavily wet underneath so it looks like brake fluid went on it

I was thinking that myself although I guess they are putting it down to hours spent sorting it out, (48 working hours I think I was told) then there's the time to allow each coat to dry plus all the rest of the things needed too.

Adds up fairly quickly :dapprove:

you could buy it as a runner if you were really skint. Id rather have a decent clio without paint than a nova or something... just spray badly to stop rust. Still a good run around ye kno as its mechanically sound bar the finish.

The problem with respraying it is that you have to wet flat the panels right back to the bare metal, otherwise once its repainted it will burn right back through the paint! Hence why its more expensive to paint with all the extra labour!
