Oil change and warranty

  soon to be a 200
If you change the Gear box and engine oil + filter will this not invalidate some part of the warranty if not using Renault parts and oil .

Why are you changing the gear box oil? Personaly i would use a renualt oil filter so if it goes back for work they can,t blame the no dealer part for the fault.

Wouldn't bother with the gear box oil. It shouldn't invalidate it but as Leeshez said get a renault filter, and if your really worried use the renault oil but its not like they're going to drain your engine and say "this oil isn't Elf... burn him at the stake!"
Just make sure you get the right viscosity oil for your engine.

Oh and buy a sump nut washer if your going to change the oil or else it will leak. You'll need the right key to unto the sump nut they sell them in motorworld for about £2

only thing you MUST do is use a genuine Renault filter about £12 IIRC

gearbox oil doesn't need touching til 72Kmiles

8mm sump square sump nut you need to undo both bolts.
Theres no issue so long as you use original Renault parts.

I've had my oil changed about 5 times now at a local VAT registered garage, also had it serviced there and ive had a few things done under warranty by Renault (new starter motor, gear box leak sorted etc) If you changed the oil yourself im sure they'd have something to say about it, but how are they ever going to tell!

They wont know simple as...

Personally I prefer to change my oil myself than have renault to it. And I like to choose my oil & plugs
