insurance is £2,900 which considering ive now no no-claims im not sure if thats good or not. car is only 9k but then again it is a 2006 197 what does everyone think? is the 2,900 worth it for insurance or is it best waiting a year and getting a years ncb under my belt before changing ?

ta for the advice

yeah its a bit dear like i know.. maybe i spend the money on an advance driving course or some shizzle this year.. might be more benifical heh

  B/G 182 + PH1 Track
2900 erm, No.

I would consider something cheaper to insure for a year again even if it is a step backwards.

You must have some cash if your able to buy a 9k car then think about insuring it with that premium though.

Theres an 18 year old lad at college last year who had a Renault F1 197 in yellow with a bodykit on a 57 plate it was the special edition or something as it had Renault F1 stickers n that and his dad bought it him for when he passed his test and payed his insurance aswell.

Was a gorgeous car shame it will end up wrapped round a tree one day soon.

Anyway on topic I would say why not look at getting a mk 2 1.6 16v they are insurance group 8 and have 110bhp as standard so its almost on par with a 106 GTi thats if your after something quick anyway and should be a fair bit cheaper than insuring yourself on an RS. You might even be able to afford a RS Twingo? They use a 1.6 16v engine aswell with VVT and has more bhp as standard, I'm gonna stop now before I get too excited lol.
