Omex 500 or 600 - What's the difference?

  Clio 172
I see from another thread that most of the modified clios use the 600 model, why is this, what are the differences between the models?

  Clio 172
Any idea on the price of them? What benefits does the 600 have over the 500 other than being thhe new model?

try looking at the specs on omex website and comparing them? 600 i believe has more features on it.

OMEX PROFESSIONAL ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM – OMEM600

The OMEM600 Engine Management System is a high performance, easy to install, easy to map ECU system designed specifically for the top clubman competitor and low volume manufacturer. The OMEM600 offers three-dimensional mapping, has user adjustable correction tables and is programmable with the engine stationary or in real time whilst the engine is running. The OMEM600 is suitable for both normally aspirated and forced induction engines.

• Maximum recommended engine speed 12,750 RPM
• AND LOADS MORE

this is all i have on file about the 600 at the min.
Good thing about it over the 500 is the ICV control.

ECU = £545 plus vat, but you need loom, injectors, plugs and MAP sensor

Copied this off the saxo forum. I think the 600 replaced the 500 not sure though.

Ive got a 600 on mine.

It says it can do traction control and full throttle gear change.

Must ask Andy about these.

ah right just wondered.. i have like 20 000+ posts on there.. i was a regular on there from being 16-20

Processor power....

have you got any info on the traction control and full throttle gear change.

I will have to get the software off Andy next time I see him.

The Traction control is not all that good.

Full Throttle gear change... yes it has got it, but you need a dog box really to make the most of it.

Its more like a grand when you add VAT a loom installation and mapping

with all the sensors - Water, Temp etc...

Kit with all the Sensors Should be about £580+ VAT RRP - its not what we sell it at obviously...

the traction control is a calculated system, i.e. it only reads differential speed or one wheel speed, then looks at rpm vs that wheel speed and if one is greater accelerating than the other backs off the power.

so compaired to a system that reads all the actual wheel speeds its not going to be nearly as good.

its only really good at stopping monster wheel spin in a really powerfull car.
