On boad trip computer

  Clio200 EDC Lux
Had a look at my miles, mpg etc on the speedo computer, its not right. It rekons I have done 0.2 miles on the trip meter and I am doing 10 mpg, plus it rekons I can do 90 miles with half a tank. I noticed it the other day and have done several miles since but it aint working right.

Any ideas what is wrong with it?

When did you last reset it?
When did you last fill it with fuel?

The numbers it gives you are "averages" so don't always seem right, especially after you've just reset/filled it up.

reseting it? you mean by pressing the putton infront of the speedo, then yes. I reset it the other week when I filled up and have done over 100 miles since but the trip meter is saying 0.2

it you've only done 0.2 miles since you've reset it then its not very accurate you ned to do about 200 before its any real use.
10mpg though with say 9 gallons (the tanks 10 so 9 is alamost full) gies a range of 90 miles so I don't see an issue there.
if you've not rest the trip then its could be the common problem of dashboards failing.

Will look tommorow to check the main odometer is working right. If the dash is about to pack it better way do it soon as my waranty runs out 1st March.

You can get an extended Renault warently which will cover failures like this.
Cost depends on how long you want the extention and milage.

mine does that too! :( resets itself when you turn the engine off, apparantly its a dry wire or something, two options, one have the dashboard off and re-solder, two, new computer and a nice sticker saying that this is not the true mileage due to new comp, yadiyada! something like that anyways!!

going for the dash off in the summer so it doesn't crack in the cold!:)

OK this morning I have done approx 4 miles and the main odometer has stayed the same. Every time I switch off and start again all of the readings (mpg / tripmeter etc) have been reset to 0 except the total mileage.

I have not reset mine for 6278 miles and it is reading 33.3MPG. I have used 189.5 gallons and average speed is 23.3 MPH

Manage to book it in for Monday, cutting it fine seeing the warranty runs out on Wedsnsday.
Found out that when you turn the ingition on it shows the data from the previous drive but as soon as you start the engine it resets the data.

Another interesting point is that from my house to work is 0.8 miles, so I drive to work and the trip says 0.8, turn off then restart it show 0.0 come home and its 0.8 again. The point being here is that the main mileage doesn't increase as its forgeting that I have done 0.8 miles, if I drive over 1 mile then then it increases accordingly.

Just gonna have to see what the dealer says, will it be a new dash? it happened to my dad and his clio was out of warranty and pay around £500 for a new dash. If that is the case I am so glad the car is still under waranty although just :)

Common failure it will be done under warently a new dashboard is the only answer.
