At 13:00 hours we shut the track down for an air display that includes: -
Team Swift (a glider & tug display team that is the most extreme we have ever seen), i.e., they do the display tied together.

Tom Cassel's (U.K. aerobatic champion).

The duxford duo will be arriving at 10,30 ,mh434 a mk9 spitfire and a p51-d mustang called ferocious Freddie will then do a display at 1345 which they won the gold cup at biggan hill in June 2008 for the best display

In the main arena we have the fantastic Russ swift "the chap who speed parks mini's at 70 mph", Chris Walton "motorbike stunt display team",

We are about to book Steve culley " four times world trials champion" who will have cart blanch permission to display all around the site, and will do a display in the main arena, steam traction engine's from the market Harborough area will be in steam and you will get to drive them during the day ,when the main arena is not being used,

There will be a laser clay pigeon shoot at the show and the best shot on the day will win £150

FOR THE LADIES

Asda George is going to have a large fashion sale, last year this was massive and was such a hit with the ladies, that we are making it even bigger, and have asked Clarinsthe French make up company to come along and give make over's to all the ladies on the day

FOR THE KIDS

For the kiddies we have a 75 foot galleon bouncy castle which will be free to all the kids, mini motto’s, mini quads, will be there on the day also.

200yds of miniature steam railway and a miniature steam traction engine that is giving kiddies rides.

Scania and Volvo will be there showing off their latest trucks, which the kids can climb all over.

Plus lots lots more !!!

CONVOY DETAILS:

As the parking at Bruntingthorpe is on a big field we need to make our own dedicated space for the club

last year we didnt arrive together and that meant we had to park in different areas rather than together and those of us who did create an area were invaded by other clubs parking next to us

so this year we should meet at a central point outside and then can go in together

CENTRAL MEET POINT @ 8.45 - 9:00AM
The Shires Inn
Main St,
Peatling Parva,
Leicestershire
LE17 5PU

the convoy route from the pub to venue is here:

BACKGROUND TO THE EVENT

You are probably wondering what its all about, well nine years ago Asda had a driver named Mark Hickenbottom who sadly died of lymphatic cancer. Asda decided to try and make his family some money and put the show together in two weeks. After the event Asda proudly handed over a cheque to his family for £7,500. Unfortuanetly Mark died before the event so didn't see it through.

The car clubs that came on the day asked if Asda could do it again the following year, and it was decided Asda would raise money for children's related cancer charities for future events.

The fact is, "on your marks" has got bigger year on year and is Bruntingthorpe's event of the year with 10,000 people or more and most of them are families having the day of their lives'. Some of them fulfilling life long dreams and wishes.

To give you an idea of how big "on-your-marks" is now, six years ago Asda ordered 250 meters of safety fencing; this year Asda have just ordered nearly 4 kilometers of metal safety fencing.

A great deal of companies help Asda to put on this incredible day and Asda, Asda George, Clarins, Scania, Volvo , Jungheinrich, Chubb, The Core of Commissionaires, Tyre Services UK Leeds ltd, Optima cone services, Ford , Continental tyres, StreetLife TV and Jeff Fowkes Wheels are but a few. The bonus for these companies is that all their employees can come along on the day (£5 per car) and spend their money on the attractions below. We have so far given about £150,000 away to the kids since Asda started this crazy idea nine years ago.

The plan year on year is to beat the previous year.

We are having a Club stand within the main area of which members and non members are invited.

I didn't see any 197's on track? Was a great day out though, so glad I made the effort to get down there.
