open cone filter

i currently have one on my car and just wondered if you can clean them as mine is filthy..if so whats thee best way to do it

that really wasnt helpful dude,but still funny...im getting the 172 serviced at the weekend but obviously need to do the air filter at the same time..its clogged with crap and have heard that you can wash these and re oil them but im not sure how to do it..is it just a case of taking the filter of and washing under warm water with fairy liquid then spraying with wd40 or is it more compex

you can buy a filter recharge kit from k&n piper x etc have a look on ebay

Pretty much that yeah, make sure run the water from the inside out, i've done it a few times and never had any probs. make sure its dry before you put it back on lol.

Pikey way of doing it but who cares :D

It was just a question, not trying to be funny and I mentioned it wasn't helpful.

wouldnt use WD-40, it'd use a thicker oil. Much like engine oil. just get a small pot then massage it into the filter with your fingertips untill you can just about feel the oil when you run a clean finger over it.
